The EPA states: (source)
“…the owner or operator of a demolition or renovation activity and prior to the commencement of the demolition or renovation, thoroughly inspect the affected facility or part of the facility where the demolition or renovation operation will occur for the presence of asbestos, including Category I and Category II non-friable ACM.” *(All facilities, regardless of the date of construction)
FEI personnel have extensive experience in providing asbestos inspections/surveys and management services in conjunction with demolition and renovation projects. Prior to renovation or demolition, affected areas must be inspected for the presence or absence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM). In Maricopa County the building owner/operator must have an inspection or re-inspection within the last 12 months before starting any renovation or demolition projects. Based on survey information and the type of project, an abatement specification or management plan is developed.
FEI will coordinate and manage all phases of the asbestos abatement project. Before abatement work begins, FEI personnel ensure that the containment and decontamination chambers are appropriately constructed. During the project, the FEI field technician performs daily air monitoring inside and outside the containment and observes and documents the contractor’s daily activities to make certain the work is appropriately performed. Once abatement is completed and before the containment is removed, the FEI field technician performs a visual inspection and final clearance air sampling of the work area to make certain the work area is safe for re-occupancy.
We offer asbestos Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Program services that are tailored to our clients’ needs. Our O&M Programs are completed in a comprehensible language that details specific procedures and training requirements. Services provided by FEI include asbestos O&M training, asbestos awareness training, and O&M Program monitoring.
FEI has licensed personnel with extensive experience providing oversight, project documentation, and air monitoring throughout abatement projects. Our on-site personnel will work with you and the abatement contractor to make certain the project is conducted in accordance with local, state and federal regulations and project specifications. Upon completion, FEI will provide a project report that includes all required documentation for your records.
